Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated May 2026. Questions? Contact us.
Cytal Research is a private research procurement company supplying research-use-only compounds. This Acceptable Use Policy (the “AUP”) defines who may use our products, the purposes for which they may be used, and the activities we prohibit. Violation of this AUP is a violation of our Terms of Service.
1. Research-Use-Only — what that means
Every product offered by Cytal Research is intended exclusively for in-vitro laboratory research: testing in cells, tissues, or analytical equipment in a controlled laboratory or manufacturing setting. Our products are not pharmaceuticals, not dietary supplements, not cosmetics, and not medical devices. They have not been evaluated by the FDA or any equivalent foreign regulator for safety or efficacy in humans or animals.
2. Permitted uses
- In-vitro research at academic, government, industrial, or independent research laboratories.
- Reference standards, analytical method development, and quality-control testing in licensed manufacturing or testing facilities.
- Custom research labeling or order documentation for qualified laboratory, institutional, or research procurement workflows, provided the materials remain for lawful research use only and are not positioned for consumer resale.
3. Strictly prohibited uses
You may not use, administer, dispense, prescribe, sell, or transfer any Cytal Research product:
- For consumption by humans, by yourself or by anyone else, including self-experimentation;
- For administration to live animals (other than IACUC-approved in-vivo research at properly credentialed institutions);
- For diagnostic, therapeutic, or preventative purposes;
- To compound, dispense, or sell as a finished pharmaceutical or dietary supplement to consumers without the licensure required in your jurisdiction;
- In any manner that violates federal, state, provincial, or local law in your jurisdiction or in the destination jurisdiction;
- To be re-sold or transferred to any party who has not separately accepted this AUP and our Terms of Service.
4. Handling and storage
- Products must be handled by qualified laboratory personnel using appropriate PPE.
- Storage conditions are listed on each product's certificate of analysis (COA).
- Disposal must follow your jurisdiction's requirements for laboratory chemical waste.
5. Identification of buyer
We require either (a) a one-time Research Verification attestation tied to your Cytal Research account or (b) an access code issued to a verified buyer. Submission of false information is fraud and grounds for immediate termination, forfeiture of any unused store credit, and reporting to law enforcement where appropriate.
6. Downstream claims and transfers
Buyers may not represent Cytal Research products as “FDA approved,” “clinically proven,” therapeutic, diagnostic, suitable for consumption, or otherwise endorsed for any application involving humans or animals. Custom research labeling does not authorize resale, consumer marketing, or downstream claims outside lawful research-use-only contexts.
7. Geographic restrictions
We do not ship to jurisdictions where the import or possession of a given compound is prohibited. If you place an order from a prohibited destination it will be refunded and your account may be flagged.
8. Reporting violations
If you observe behavior that violates this AUP — for example a seller representing a Cytal Research product as a supplement on a third-party marketplace — please report it via /contact. We act on reports promptly.
9. Enforcement
We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, suspend or terminate access codes and accounts that violate this AUP, and may pursue all available legal remedies for resulting harm.
